Look inside — Know what your files are saying.
Check provenance
Some files say where they came from. This reads what they say — and is careful about what that proves.
- Checks the signature on C2PA Content Credentials with the official validator, in this tab: changed since signing or not, and signed by a certificate on the C2PA trust list or not.
- Shows who signed, with what app or device, and what the file says about itself — camera capture, edits, or generative AI.
- No “AI-generated: 87%”. A metadata read can’t support a percentage, so it doesn’t print one.
- Invisible pixel watermarks like SynthID can’t be detected from metadata, and the page says so.
Everything on this page runs on your device. Nothing you drop here is uploaded.
Questions
- If nothing is found, is the image real?
- No. Missing credentials prove nothing — most cameras don’t write them and most sharing strips them.
- Does it verify the signature?
- Yes. The validator (about 3 MB, downloaded from this site only when you ask) checks the signature, the hashes and the certificate chain against the C2PA trust list. Nothing about your file is sent anywhere.
- Does a valid signature mean the picture is true?
- It means who signed it and that nothing changed since. It does not mean the signer told the truth.
