Look inside — Know what your files are saying.
Inspect a file
Before you clean anything, see what’s there. Every field, in plain words, coloured by what it gives away.
- Red for a person or a place. Amber for a device or a moment. Green for what’s harmless.
- Several files are read together too: “38 of 40 carry the same camera serial”, “22 were taken within 300 m of one spot”. That is the case for cleaning, at the scale where it bites.
- Coordinates become a pin on a map and “near Victoria, British Columbia” — both drawn from files inside the app, so no map service is asked. The OpenStreetMap link is there for the exact spot, only when you click.
- Export the findings as CSV or JSON. Cells a spreadsheet would execute are neutralised.
Everything on this page runs on your device. Nothing you drop here is uploaded.
Questions
- Which formats?
- JPEG (Ultra HDR and Motion Photos included), PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, JPEG XL, TIFF and DNG photos, and MOV and MP4 videos. PDFs have their own tool: PDF metadata.
- Why is my name in my photo?
- Many cameras and editors copy the owner name from your account settings into every file they write.
