Watermark an ID
Landlords, employers and agencies keep copies of your ID. Mark each one with who it was for and when, so a leaked copy is useless anywhere else.
- Type who it’s for; the month is added for you. The line repeats diagonally across the whole page — over the photo and the numbers — so it can’t be cropped off.
- Burned in, not layered on: photos are redrawn, and PDF pages are rebuilt as pictures, so there’s no text box or layer for anyone to delete.
- Their metadata goes in the process — no location, no phone model, no author.
- Ink, strength and size, with a live preview, so it stays readable for the person who needs to check it.
Everything on this page runs on your device. Nothing you drop here is uploaded.
Questions
- Does a watermark really help?
- It doesn’t stop someone reading your ID — it makes a stolen copy hard to reuse. A bank or a lender seeing “for 123 Main St rental application only” knows the copy wasn’t made for them.
- Will the person I send it to accept it?
- Most do: the details stay readable. Keep the strength low enough that the number and the photo can still be checked.
- Is my ID uploaded?
- No. It never leaves this page.
