Clean metadata
Your photos record where you stood, which phone you own and what time it was. This takes it out without touching a pixel.
- Surgical by default: the metadata is deleted and the compressed image data is left byte-for-byte as it was. No re-encode, no softening.
- It shows you first. Every file is read before you decide, and you’re told how many fields identify you or where you were.
- Say what the photos are for — posting publicly, sending to someone, keeping — and it ticks the right boxes. You can still change them.
- It proves it afterwards. The finished files are read back, and a receipt prints the image-data hash before and after. Same hash, same picture.
Everything on this page runs on your device. Nothing you drop here is uploaded.
Questions
- Does my photo get uploaded?
- No. The work happens on your device. The site’s own tests drive every tool in a real browser and fail if any request carries a file.
- What about iPhone HEIC photos?
- Cleaned surgically too: the Exif and XMP inside the HEIC are removed in place and the image itself is untouched.
- What about HDR photos and Motion Photos?
- An Ultra HDR photo is two images in one file, and a Motion Photo carries a short video with its own location. Every piece is cleaned by its own rules and put back, so the HDR still lights up and the video still plays — frame for frame.
- Raw files?
- DNG, including Apple ProRAW, and TIFF are cleaned in place: the camera serial, the maker notes copy and any embedded original raw file go, and the raw data stays byte-for-byte.
